Sea Thrift Ceramics is based in west Sligo, Ireland. Naomi makes thoughtful, small batch, functional and decorative pieces in stoneware and porcelain. Her inspiration is deeply rooted in the natural environment surrounding her, drawing from the native flora and fauna, unique geology, and the rich history of the landscape.
Naomi Peppard Rogers graduated with a degree in ceramic design from the Crawford college of art and design, Cork in 2004 and with a Post grad in Community art and adult education from the National College of Art and Design, Dublin in 2010. She has worked in street spectacle, arts in education and community art for two decades before returning to her first love- ceramics.
Sea thrift [Rabhán, Armeria maritima, Sea Pink] ~ a small native wildflower that flourishes along the rocky shore. A symbol of hope and resilience because of its ability to thrive in the harsh coastal environment.
